My first 240z!
Hey guys and gals, I just purchased my first datsun, a 240z. I have been building 4x4's for about 12 years now, and have always wanted to build a badass little z car. Anyways, I have a sweet drivetrain burning a hole in my pocket, and I came across a guy selling a clean 73 with a bad engine for $500 and I snagged it up. Plans for the build are as follows:
First I am going to strip the car, get everything down to bare metal, throw it on a rotisserie, media blast it, and paint it black. I have a mildly build 5.7 hemi out of an 03 dodge that is putting down just over 400hp at the flywheel, that I am going to use as my power plant. I am thinking I will use a T5 manual out of a mustang. I am new to these cars, I imagine the rear diff will need to be upgraded, and I would like to upgrade the front suspension while I have it up on the rotisserie.
Any questions, comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this is my first Z so feel free to fill me in. Thanks

Welcome to ZDriver!
Since you will have it stripped down and on a rotisserie, do some frame / chassis strengthening. You will need it if you are going to use a V8. Search here & on HybridZ.org. Lots of detailed info on building a mild to wild S30.
