Re: wheel spacer
what do you mean by a regular spacer? just a 3/4-1" spacer to extend the stock 4 lug hub outwards? You can get them at
http://www.modern-motorsports.com/contact.html
contact Ross Corrigan @ modern motorsports at that link.

Re: wheel spacer
I wouldnt suggest using spacers. By using spacers there's more chance of your luggs loosening from the friction of the wheels, and the expansion from the heat, and I definately wouldn't race with spacers. If you want your wheels to stick out more then you should get wider rims, and put wider tires on the car. Don't do it the half assed way, cause you'll only end up making things worse. It's worth it to spend the extra $
just my opinion.

Re: wheel spacer
I have been using spacers for 2 years. I too like the 17" Tenzo-R rims. check out mine at:
https://www.zdriver.com/rides/detail...x=16&vehId=109
I ran an ad in the "wanted to buy" on ZCar.com and got 5 responses.. I got mine from a guy in Oregon. They even came with lug bolts on the required 4x100 spacing. They fit the Z spacing perfectly. I used 215/17/45 Toyo TS-1 tires and they are stock diameter. The tires are quite wide, but i have NEVER had one rub. The Tenzo rims are quite light and with the spacers - put the tires exactly on the stock width.
LOL

ps. I just won 1st place in street modifed at the ZCCA nationals in San Antonio, TX - I credit the Tenzo Wheels with the win

Re: wheel spacer
to the original poster: see the link I provided for ross c's modern motorsports - the spacers he sells are honda offset so it'll put your Z about 40mm+ offset like a honda so you can use positive offset wheels like gerryG's.
gerryG, I am not a fan of 2nd gen 280zx's, but yours is one of the best looking I have ever seen.

Re: wheel spacer
Thanks for the compliment. I didn't really the ZX's either, but thought with a little clean up and a little improvement in the ride, they might be OK. I am TOTALLY pleased with the ride and handling of the car now.
Coming home from the convention it would just sit at 90 mph and curise sooo good. It takes the bumps much better and the handling is much more 240 like. Comfort is another strong suit. I don't believe the early cars can match it for comfort on long trips
I thought it might be refreshing to see what could be done with one. Next step is to build a real killer engine for it

Hey Tombarace14 here is a link for some rims. If you look under Volex alot of the rims actually list the Z cars 240-280ZX 1970-1985. I don't know if you do need adapters, I'm waiting on an e-mail from them, but worth a look anyway. http://customwheelsmarket.com/
P.S.gerryG I'm the guy that sat and talked to you and your son at the car show in Bandera (Blain me, Jim my Dad ), could you send that info we talked about. My e-mail is in my profile thanks.
