Please Read This !! It Reguards Posting !!
I dont know if i speak for other people on this website but here is what i think:
I have been a member of zdriver now for about 2 years, and A LOT of the posts are the same questions over and over again. This makes it a bit boring for some of us that have been here for a while as we are replying to the same questiosns over and over again ! ...
CAN PEOPLE PLEASE USE THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION BEFORE POSTING !!!
See if you question has already been answered !?! It will be quicker and you will get an answer straight away if it has been discussed before.
HOW many people ask if S30 transmissions are interchangable . ?? i have seen 2 posts tonight for the same thing!
Kyle (+ other admins): Maybe you can make a sticky topic at the top on a guide to posting ?
This will mean that more questions get answered more quickly, and less posts will remain unanswered hopefully
Any way just my opinion ....

If you searched the archives, then you would find that most all questions about z cars have been answered in the past in some form or fashion. With all due repect, if everyone was to do what you suggested, then there would be no need for a forum anymore because people can just search to find their answers. Every day, most questions asked have been covered sometime in the past. I think that having no forum would be alot more boring than having one where questions are repeated. If you see a repeated question, and it annoys you, you don't have to respond. I don't and many others don't. I've been on here a long time also, and it is often easier to ask a direct question than to spend a bunch of time sifting through the many posts and strings available to find your answer.

You both have a good point !
Things do get answered several times over and if you do search the
archives you can find the answers, however, some people come up
with different solutions for the same problems and also products
change. For one thing getting Z parts from Nissan is getting tougher
everyday and will soon end.
If you have a problem do search the archives, but don't be affraid to
post on the forums. It will keep it alive and also allow others to see
what solutions are out there. We do want to keep this forum alive

Thats true tyco, but then if you dont respond then people get all annoyed and go "no one is responding to my posts !!"
I spose that post ended up looking a little more harsh than i intended ... i just think it would be good if a moderator could make a sticky topic with a guide to posting, and in it mention the search feature as a lot of new people probably dont know about it.
In a lot of the other car forums i go on if someone asks the same old question again they are all pretty much told to use the search .... just wat im used to i guess ?

I am the new Moderator of this forum. I will keep an I out for
people who have post the same type questions over and over.
Godzilla and Yuichi really haven't had the time to Moderate the
forums with the store running now. I am suppose to check the
posts and make sure things are going smoothly.

Thanks for the help! This is a really active one and I look forward to another person moderating it as well!
As for this posting guide business... it could be a good idea, any other forum that I've joined has the rules flashed on the screen before you're allowed to post.. but not this one. We are all here to help each other and to get current advice, which is why a post of the same question now and a week ago is allowed.
This forum is the way it is, and its been pretty successful, I'd sure hate to see it change. If you want to help those who ask a question and didn't get an answer, suggest to them the search function.
When I first enter a forum that's new to me... and I ask a question and my replies are "use search! We just covered this!" it makes me feel left out! I'd much rather be a part of the conversation/posts rather than just reading it...

Hey Steve,
I was a Moderator awhile back when they first started the forums section.
They just asked me to check the 70-83 forum and see if I could help it a
bit. Now that www.strictlyz.com is up and running they don't have
much time to help out on the forums section.
I will only be a moderator for awhile and then will probably move into
the admin part of the site. We want to give it a fresh look with more articles
and some eye candy for all.

240-260-280 forum sure is a lot of work for one moderator! I sure can use the help! I've noticed Kyle and Yuichi have been making more and more moderators lately... I keep getting private messages of so-and-so being made moderator priviledges.
You're gonna be an administrator?? What does an administrator do that I don't?

oversee each board. Basically we aren't going to do much moderating
at all. You guys have been doing a great job at it. As an Admin. person

yeah some regular updates would be good agian. The site seems to go through stages of heaps of new articles and then nothing for a few months then heaps again..

I take it you are in OZ. Since you guys are heading toward your Summer
season it would be nice to see the Australian guys pic up the car show
article slack as we go into Winter. What do you think ?? See if you and
your buddies can get some articles together from your area.

things don't really slow down over here in winter .. everyone still drives their cars all year round .. there is not a very big zed car show scene over here .. there are the datsun nationals early next year ... and leyburn historic sprints .. but not much else ... but ill see what i can do ... i could do an article soon on panneling the rust out of a 2+2 ..but i dont know whether that would be very exciting for people
