Newbie getting ready to sell 72 240z

Hello All;

I am the original owner of a 72 240Z purchased in June 1972 from San Jose Datsun.

The car was restored in the mid 80s but had some original parts replaced, e.g. Radio.

In the late 80s I had a catastrophic engine failure and replaced the 240 engine with a Japanese Box 280 engine and 5 speed transmission. We used all the bolt on 240 parts such as carbs.

The car became a garage stored vehicle in the mid 90s and has remained there until last week when I decided to sell it.

I have reregistered it in California and am currently getting into running condition.

My question is I have no idea what it's worth. It is in good physical shape with only minor issues in on small place on the passenger side rocker behind the door and the top of the left front fender has a area of discoloration. The dash has no cracks. The radio was updated to a cassette type and speakers installed in the doors and rear corners of the cargo compartment.

Could anyone point me in the right direction a to valuing the car. I realize pictures will be needed but will not be available until I get it back from the auto repair shop cleaning up the fuel system and getting it running.

Thanks in advance, I look forward to further discussions.

Hagerty Insurance has a valuation tool on their web-site that will give you a ball-park idea of your car's worth. It is: hagerty.com

Check out eBay, craigslist and other online sites for comparable listing. I know eBay has the option of having you only view completed (sold) listings. That's the best indicator as it gives sale prices rather than asking prices.
