Need Help Sourcing Choke Cable Boots

Seems the firewall grommet for the dual choke cables (240Z or 260Z) is easily obtainable but the rubber boots sealing the carburetor end of the cables are not. I've searched high and low on the web for these boots.

Does anyone have a source or an appropriate alternate method of sealing the carburetor end of the choke cables?

A photo of the cable ends and a perished boot can be seen on post #32. https://www.zdriver.com/forums/240z-...project-37922/

Thanks for the link. I didn't know about them. Unfortunately they don't have the boots either. Rats! I will send them a note and see if they have a source.

Search for cable bellows. You might find a suitable substitute.

I was reading his thread when he started making all those parts for his build. And he was asking people to give input on what other items that they would be interested in. So you might reach out through email and see if he is willing to make them."240zrubberparts"

Looks like I might have found something which will work. It's a discontinued Suzuki part #58333-35400. It looks a little different but the critical specifications (I.D. at each end and overall length) seem correct. I've ordered a set from a motorcycle shop in Tacoma. We'll see first if they really have them in stock, and if they do, we'll soon see if they fit.

Many thanks to PredatorZ over on my restoration thread for the links as well as everyone who has responded here.

Reporting back soon.

very cool

Glad I could help, seemed that is was kind of a common design, there logically should be some cross over pieces that would work

for others

Once you get the boot installed, do us all a favor and give a short right up, hopefully this will be a great aide for other early s30's owners in the same situation

The order from the Tacoma shop bounced this morning shortly after they opened for business. Seems like their web-site is very happy to accept orders for parts they list but do not have and can not get.

Yet another Internet search today led to a source in the Netherlands of all places. Order placed for 3 Euros each plus 27 Euros shipping. This is getting expensive...

Yet again, waiting to see if this order gets filled.
