1977 ECU and Fuel Relay Questions.

Greetings,
- My wife and I have a 1977 280Z, as far as I know it’s the original engine and automatic transmission. We got it as an “Almost running” project, and I’ve isolated most of its problems to being electrical, mostly old relays and sensors. So I come to you guys for some needed information and advice. Unfortunatly a forum search didn't provide the needed info.

- First, I located and removed the ECU. It is part number A11-600 000, that’s for a manual. The ECU for an automatic is 601. My question is simply “What’s the difference?” or- Is there really a difference at all?... Has anyone run a 600 with an auto, or a 601 with a manual? I’ve had the car driven around the block a couple times using the 600 ECU, auto shifted ok, and seemed like the ECU was doing it’s job (I think?-lol) but it has been running rich. Although I’m not 100% sure, I really didn’t think it being rich had to do with the ECU, actually suspected the water temp to enricher injector circuit as the culprit, again, not 100% sure.

- Second Question. The fuel circuit relay that resides above the ECU (At drivers left foot), it’s actually two relays in one silver housing. These seem hard to locate and a bit antiquated, has anyone converted this unit over to two (2) separate relays? If so, do you have a picture or diagram of how you did it? Seems one could simply build a harness to convert/upgrade to something more available and affordable. My fuel relay is defiantly dead/dying, it usually wont power the car, no power to starter solenoid, injectors, fuel pump etc.

Well, you guys have a great site here, found a lot of good info that’s helped me get this project forward. Alas, an answer for these two questions would be a great help! I’d love to get this car on the road and running right.
Thank you all in advance.

Bat.

Need an engineer

Or at least someone savvy with relays, I did find a decent price on a used one with a core exchange, But that is a part that needs some research to replace the part, few if any new replacement parts available.

At what these are going for, this is a part you would definitely pull out of any parted cars you might run into, don't let these get crushed !!
