exhaust question

I need an exhaust system. everything after the header. Its going on a 74 so it doesn't need to smog.

I'm looking at twice pipes,
http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PEC09/15-6030

Are they quality parts? Should I get a custom one made instead?

Snw put twice pipes on his S30. A quick search will probably find them for you.

anyone know if that twice pipes kit can be separated? they look to be attached at the muffler.

i really want one pipe on each side instead of both together

Yep... the pic on MSA should help:

FYI... dual exhaust (both sides of the car) is usually for V6 engines... not Inline 6 engines. Just a personal pet peeve of mine when someone puts dual exhaust on an inline 6.

Kinda like putting a turbo sticker on an n/a car.

heres the link to the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOtCBSKT5j4

and heres a picture so maybe it'll break down better for you

it doesnt come with the headers but GET THEM! also, i shouldnt have sold that car. sure teh bike is ****in sick and i got like 6k from the car but i put SO MUCH TIME and hard work into it.... im about to cry

also the exhaust is a PAIN IN THE *** to install have a buddy and some jacks because the thing likes to fall apart as you fit it all up there my suggestion is to get EVERYTHING put up with NO CLAMPS ON have it snug to the body make sure theres an adequate amount of pipe inside the tappered ends of the other pipes THEN add the clamps make sure none of it moves on you.

and the MSA header is painted like **** so scrape it all off then repaint it yourself with super high temp header paint or do some header wrap

Because V6's have 2 exhaust manifolds, thus 2 possible exhaust pipes. On an inline 6, there is one exhaust manifold, thus necessitating only one exhaust pipe. Skylines and Supras don't have dual exhaust do they?

it is balanced... you see how it ALL flows into ONE PIPE before splitting back into two seperate pipes? yup thats where its balanced. between cylinders though not banks like in V style engines. trust me its a great design preformed well and sounded like gods having sex

lol if your so OCD about it then buy another exhaust manifold then another motor to go with it... if your gonna be OCD dont be half assed about it go ALL THE WAY!!!!

wow dual L28s in a V12 configoration!!!! got me all hyped up!!!! now lets not get in to an arguement about how this wouldnt work... unless you guys want to

custom exhausts dont cost much either (at least they dont here) just get a good header, y pipe flange, and your muff and let em get to work... but some places wont get rid of cats but if thats the issue your at the wrong muff shop

I agree... those twice pipes sound and look awesome. (I'm) only hatin on the dual exhaust tip (one on each side of the car) idea.

Here is a clip of mine with flowmaster super 40. I like the sound of it too. Hard for me to decide whether I like the twice pipes more, but it does sound good.

And one under load. Though not much load. Wet the ground so I didn't lose my tires yet.

whats the point of exiting a 2.5 in in to 2 2.5 pipes? when it splits that causes turbulence aka a form of back pressure (more than single pipe) and if the pipes merge than thats two times it incounters back pressure as a result of turbulence... why do you think new perfirmace muffs have a straight trough design?

and the weight part is obvious
