The Build Begins... '71 240Z

Small update: Still can't insure the car because of brake issues... New booster, and still no resistance in pedal untill it nearly hits the floor, then the brakes grab. Also, i thought the car was burning oil but it turns out it's just running rich as hell. Budget is going dry.

Have you bled your brakes recently?

Oh yeah, I've bled the hell out of the brakes. I think the shop sold me the wrong master cylinder (diagnosed by the HBZ guys) so I'm going to the scrap yard to see if I can find a used series 1 MC.

cool!... is it really that simple to fixing a lost key problem with a z? i have a 77 that has no key and was thinking i had to pull out every mechanism and igintion from a parts car and reinstall in order to have doorlocks and igintion again.. never thought about a locksmith using 1 lock to make a key.. very cool! this will save soooo much headache for me and enable the car to unlock the steering column without pulling stuff off of it. yay! ( i do feel kinda foolish for not looking into/ thinking about this option myself.. but thankyou for sharing)

It wasnt too hard at all. For the door lock, all i had to do was remove the window crank and armrest and the panel popped right off. Ignition lock was too easy. I just removed the plastic column covers, unscrewed a few bolts, and the ignition assmebly came right off.
Thanks for the motivational comments, guys! Glad you all appreciate the work i'm doing!
