Small update: Still can't insure the car because of brake issues... New booster, and still no resistance in pedal untill it nearly hits the floor, then the brakes grab. Also, i thought the car was burning oil but it turns out it's just running rich as hell. Budget is going dry.

Sorry about the continuing issues. Budget is an issue for most of us.

Have you bled your brakes recently?

More importantly, are you sure you have the bleed screws on the tops of the calipers?

Oh yeah, I've bled the hell out of the brakes. I think the shop sold me the wrong master cylinder (diagnosed by the HBZ guys) so I'm going to the scrap yard to see if I can find a used series 1 MC.

Also pulled a door lock to send in and get a key made.

cool!... is it really that simple to fixing a lost key problem with a z? i have a 77 that has no key and was thinking i had to pull out every mechanism and igintion from a parts car and reinstall in order to have doorlocks and igintion again.. never thought about a locksmith using 1 lock to make a key.. very cool! this will save soooo much headache for me and enable the car to unlock the steering column without pulling stuff off of it. yay! ( i do feel kinda foolish for not looking into/ thinking about this option myself.. but thankyou for sharing)

[QUOTE=7d82adz;337640]cool!... is it really that simple to fixing a lost key problem with a z? QUOTE]

It wasnt too hard at all. For the door lock, all i had to do was remove the window crank and armrest and the panel popped right off. Ignition lock was too easy. I just removed the plastic column covers, unscrewed a few bolts, and the ignition assmebly came right off.

Thanks for the motivational comments, guys! Glad you all appreciate the work i'm doing!

Keep up the hard work. I'll be starting down the same road in a few weeks, after I get my '70 240Z back from the "junk yard". It will be in even worse shape.

I knew that car inside and out when I owned it from 1974 to 2000.
